Private by design: compression happens entirely in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to a server — there is nothing to store, leak, or delete.

How to compress an image

  1. Add one or more images using the box above.
  2. Set the quality — 80% is the sweet spot for photos; try 60% if a form has a hard size limit.
  3. Click Compress. Each image downloads with -compressed in its name, next to a before/after size report.

FAQ

What format do compressed files come out as? JPG — it's the smallest universal format for photos. Transparent PNGs will get a white background, so keep those as PNG if the transparency matters.

Why is my compressed file sometimes bigger? If an image was already heavily compressed, re-encoding can't shrink it further at high quality. Try a lower quality setting.
